15+ Iditarod Resources with Clip Art Freebie!

Known as "The Last Great Race" the Iditarod is an annual long-distance sled dog race run in early March from Anchorage to Nome Alaska. The 2015 race starts March 7th.
Below I have listed some sites with resources that you can use to incorporate the Iditarod into your curriculum. No matter what subject or grade you teach you can incorporate the Iditarod into your lessons in a meaningful way.
Official Site for Alaska's Iditarod  Excellent site. Jam packed with ideas and resources.
Right now the Jr. Iditarod Team is on the trail. You can follow them with this GPS Tracker.
Iditarod Education Portal Excellent resources! "Get on the Iditarod Trail with us for an educational journey to academic success!  Pack your sled with lessons, projects, activities, and information that will enhance your curriculum.  Take your students on an adventure of a lifetime!"
      Student Portal Don't miss!

Sled Dogs: An Alaskan Epic Interactive: Dogsledding 101 Nice interactive from PBS.
Scholastic (Nice interactive)
